Fladene Gard, located in Hegelstad in Bjerkreim, is a farm with deep roots and a history that spans several generations. Today, the farm is managed by Anne Pearl and Baard Gravdal, who specialize in products made from the hardy and flavorful Spælsau, which graze freely in the beautiful Rambjørheia. The farm offers a variety of products, including cured meats, lamb ribs, neck, fenalår (cured lamb), and sheepskin, and has recently launched two exciting new cured sausages with fresh flavors. Fladene Gard has recently introduced two new cured sausages. One is made with blueberries, which adds a fresh and slightly sweet flavor, while the other is spiced with herbs for an extra flavorful experience. Both products are crafted with the same care and quality that the farm is known for. These new varieties are an exciting addition to their already popular range of cured meats. The cured sausages made from the farm’s meat are always limited edition, as they are made with the ingredients available at any given time.
Focus on Tradition – and a New Audience
Fladene Gard has always had a strong connection to nature and traditional food production. The animals on the farm are allowed to graze freely in the mountains for much of the year, and their products are made with love and respect for both the animals and the environment. This respect for tradition is something the farm is proud of and continues to pass down through every product.
At the same time, Fladene Gard has successfully attracted a younger audience, particularly through its activity on TikTok. The farm shares fun and interesting videos about life on the farm and from various markets, gaining great attention among young people. While Fladene Gard is known for its traditions, they have found a great balance by engaging this new audience on a modern platform. Fladene Gard is also present on Facebook and Instagram, where they share updates and photos with their followers.
A Cohesive and Recognizable Image
Currently, Fladene Gard is working on developing new labels to create an even more cohesive and recognizable image for their products. As part of this process, they had a visit from photographer Kevin Molstad last year, who took stunning pictures of the products and life on the farm. These photos have helped highlight both the products and the unique charm of the farm, contributing to giving the brand a more professional look.
Where Can You Buy the Products?
Fladene Gard makes its products easily accessible through a self-service shop that is open throughout the week, as well as an order form on their website. Additionally, Fladene Gard can be found at Bondens Marked (Farmers’ Market) and various fairs and markets around the region. They are also part of Rekoring in Sandnes/Stavanger and Rekoring Dalane, which allows customers to order products directly from the farm. They will also have a sale at Forum Jæren in Bryne on April 1st. This is a unique opportunity to taste the freshest products and get a taste of what Fladene Gard has to offer.
