Det Norske Måltid – A Flavourful Celebration!

It was an inspiring and memorable night as the entire TEAL team attended Det Norske Måltid at DNB Arena in Stavanger. The event was professionally executed from start to finish, with the perfect blend of pride, excitement, and entertainment. A big round of applause to the organisers for shining a spotlight on Norwegian food and drink culture – and for honouring the many producers who work tirelessly every day to deliver products of outstanding quality.

Det Norske Måltid is one of Norway’s most prestigious competitions for food and beverages. For over 15 years, it has highlighted the very best in Norwegian raw materials and products. A jury of some of the country’s most renowned chefs and sommeliers carefully evaluates the finalists and selects winners across various categories – from cheese and meat to drinks and vegetables. The goal is to showcase the diversity, innovation and quality of Norwegian food production, and to inspire further development across the entire value chain.

We were especially proud to cheer on three of our partners: Jærbær by Jone Wiig, Sølvsider by Apal Sideri, and Mak Kimchi by Eimealt – all finalists in their respective categories. It’s a great achievement to reach the final stage of such a highly respected competition.

The evening became even more special when Jærbær came out on top and won the award for Best Green Product! A fantastic recognition of their innovative work with greenhouse strawberry production in Orre, where the berries are grown under full climate control to ensure high quality all year round. Congratulations to Jone Wiig! We also extend our warm congratulations to Norges Bygdekvinnelag on receiving the honorary award – a well-deserved tribute to generations of women who have preserved food culture, traditions and community through the years.

Det Norske Måltid is a remarkable initiative that truly showcases the breadth and quality of Norwegian food production. The evening left us full of inspiration, proud to work closely with so many skilled producers – and even more motivated to follow the continued progress of this incredible industry. We’re already looking forward to next year!
